LAST TIME OUT
On Sunday, the Golden Bears concluded their weekend series at Minnesota Crookston with a split. The Golden Bears used a six-run seventh in game one to grab a 9-4 win before dropping game two 6-1.

After the teams traded the lead back and forth early in game one, the CSP bats came through in the seventh as they scored six runs to claim the decisive advantage in the third and final conference game of the series.

The Golden Bears took advantage of their opportunities at the plate as they needed just seven hits to score nine runs in the victory. The team's patience at the plate played a big role as they drew nine walks to aid the offensive effort.

Senior shortstop Patrick Bordewick had a big game at the plate as he went 2-4 with a home run, three RBIs and a run scored while Matt Pietsch picked up a hit and a walk while scoring three times. Ryan Christopher and Jarod Wandersee each reached base safely three times in the game as Christopher finished 2-4 with a walk and run scored while Wandersee walked three times, scored once and drove in another. Ryan Bastyr added a two-run single while Nick Thimsen chipped in an RBI single of his own.

CSP starter Michael Voss was solid on the hill as he limited Minnesota Crookston to just four hits and two runs over 5.0 innings while striking out four in a no-decision. TJ Johnson (3-2) picked up the win as he allowed one run on no hits in his inning in relief before Connor Hurley finished it off with 3.0 innings of one-run ball and four strikeouts to grab his second save of the year.

BSU SERIES HISTORY
Concordia enters the mid-week meeting with a 41-25 record against Bemidji State. While the Beavers dominated the series early on with wins in each of the first seven meetings, the Golden Bears have turned the series heavily in their favor in recent years with 11 wins in the last 12 meetings since 2015. In 22 meetings in Bemidji, CSP holds a 14-8 record.

LAST MEETING WITH THE BEAVERS
On CSP's final day of competition before seeing their 2020 season cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Golden Bears cruised to a 9-3 victory over the Beavers.

Riding an impressive outing for Luke DeGrammont on the mound, the Golden Bears jumped out to a big lead before sealing a win in the first game of the day.

DeGrammont made life tough on the Beavers as he held them to just three hits over 7.0 shutout frames to pick up the win. He added a pair of strikeouts while walking three.

Two-out hitting was a big theme for the Golden Bears at the plate as they scored six of their nine runs with two outs in the win. In total, the CSP offense tallied 17 hits with six different players registering multi-hit games.

Patrick Bordewick reached four times as he finished 3-4 with a walk to go along with a hit and a run scored. Ryan Christopher added three hits of his own, his fifth three-hit game of the trip, with a double, two driven in and two runs scored. Jack Young also stayed hot as he extended his hitting streak to eight, including five multi-hit games in Arizona. He went 2-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored and an RBI.

Eathan SoeffkerMatt Pietsch and Jarod Wandersee all added two-hit games as well with Soeffker driving in two and Pietsch scoring twice.

AUGIE SERIES HISTORY
The Golden Bears head into this weekend's series with a record of 5-29 against the Vikings. CSP's wins have been split fairly evenly over the all-time series with Augie as they have tallied wins in 2009, 2011, two in 2016 and one in 2019. Augustana has won 11 of the last 12, including three in the NSIC Tournament. The two schools have met nine times in Sioux Falls with Concordia going 3-6 in those meetings.

LAST MEETING WITH THE VIKINGS
Back on April 13-14, 2019, the Vikings took two out of three from the Golden Bears at DMACC Baseball Field in Boone, Iowa. Following a 5-1 game one loss on April 13, CSP bounced back to claim game two 1-0 before dropping game three 7-1 on April 14.

In the win, against one of the top lineups in the conference, the senior duo of Zach Lauzon and Blake Stelzer combined for an impressive two-hit shutout as they kept the Vikings guessing throughout the contest.

Lauzon worked the first 6.0 innings of the game, striking out three to pick up the win. Stelzer came on in the seventh and faced the minimum as he picked up a strikeout and a game-ending double play to grab his second save of the year.

At the plate, the Golden Bears tallied eight hits despite being held to just one run as Roch Whittaker and Tom Austin each registered two-hit games. Austin picked up the team's lone extra-base hit with a double while Cole Kirchoff drove in the game's only run with an RBI single in addition to drawing a walk. Ryan Christopher also reached base safely twice with a single and a walk.

Augustana starter Seth Miller nearly matched Lauzon throughout the game as he allowed just an unearned run on the eight hits over 6.0 innings while striking out four as he took the tough luck loss.
