LAST TIME OUT
In last weekend's trip to Purdue Northwest, the Golden Bears took three of four games to claim a series win to open the season.

After a tough matchup in the first game of the series, Concordia stormed back to win the final three games of the weekend. CSP claimed wins of 7-5, 7-4 and 8-2 after the series-opening 3-0 loss.

During the three-game winning streak, CSP reached base at a .410 clip while holding their opponents to a sub-.300 mark at .297. The Golden Bears added a team average of .295 with 10 extra-base hits while PNW finished at .231 with just four extra-base hits during that span.

The corner infield duo of Ryan Bastyr and Eathan Soeffker was impressive at the plate as Bastyr slashed .500/.647/.583 while Soeffker put up a mark of .400/.455/.900. Bastyr proved to be a tough out as he reached base safely in 11 of 17 plate appearances, adding a double, three RBIs and three runs scored. Soeffker supplied the power as three of his four hits went for extra bases with two doubles and a homer, giving him a team-best seven RBIs.

On the mound, it was the bullpen that shined with five of seven relievers not allowing an earned run on the weekend. Overall, the bullpen delivered a sterling 1.80 ERA over 15.0 innings, allowing just six hits and striking out 14. TJ Johnson and Eric Lundell each picked up their first career wins out of the bullpen while Jonah Lewis grabbed his first save in navy and gold.

UMD SERIES HISTORY
The Golden Bears and the Bulldogs have combined for a fairly even series history with CSP holding a record of 24-28 against UMD heading into the weekend. Concordia's best stretch came from 2006-09 as they claimed 11 wins in 13 meetings during that span. Minnesota Duluth has started to turn the momentum in their favor with nine wins in 11 meetings before the CSP grabbed a four-game sweep back in 2019. In 13 neutral site meetings, Concordia has gone 11-6.

LAST MEETING WITH THE BULLDOGS
Back on Mar. 31-Apr.1, 2019, the Golden Bears took care of business at Superior High School as they took all four games of a four-game series. CSP snagged wins of 4-2 and 10-8 on the first day before winning 9-2 and 6-3 on the second.

In the first game of the series, it was a big day at the plate for Patrick Bordewick as the CSP shortstop went 6-10 (.600) with a home run, four runs driven in and three runs scored to guide the offense. Bordewick also extended his hitting streak to 13 as he picked up his sixth and seventh multi-hit games during the streak. Carter Schmidt added a pair of multi-hit games as well to finish the day 4-8 (.500) with a double, two runs and two RBIs.

On day two, It was a true team effort on the day for the Golden Bears as 11 different players registered hits and 18 reached base at least once in the doubleheader sweep. As a team, CSP picked up 23 hits it 70 at-bats to slash .329/.434/.443 on the day. The pitching staff was equally effective as the four pitchers combined for a 1.69 ERA over 16.0 innings with 13 strikeouts and 14 hits allowed.
