CHICAGO, Ill. – This past week, Concordia-St. Paul men's basketball signee Jonah Zeller was named a McDonald's All American Games nominee.
 
McDonald's announced the nominations of more than 700 girls and boys high school basketball players for the 44th annual McDonald's All American game Thursday.
 
The McDonald's All American Games is the pinnacle of high school basketball. Each year ushers a new group of young players into a club of legendary athletes, many of whom are known by a single name: Shaq, Lebron, Candace, A'ja.
 
Zeller, a Portland, Oregon native, is one of 62 players to receive a nomination for the West roster. With his senior season canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Zeller averaged 15.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game as a junior at Catlin Gabel School.
 
Last week, McDonald's announced the difficult decision to forego an in-person Games experience and honor the 2021 class through a virtual celebration that will highlight the Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®). In keeping with the storied tradition, the final 48, who were announced yesterday, will forever be known as McDonald's All Americans and have their legacy cemented as some of the greatest to play the game.
