Since their first matchup in 2000, the Bears have commanded an 8-1-1 record over the Cougars. The only loss to the Sioux Falls squad came back in 2016 with a 1-0 final score. In the last contest between the squads, the Bears took a 3-1 victory at Sea Foam Stadium in 2019.

In the last victory, current Golden Bears Katie Anderson and Nikki Anderson both saw playing time and made an impact. Katie Anderson opened scoring for the match while Nikki Anderson assisted the next goal and secured her own goal in the 58th minute.
