ST. PAUL, Minn. – Due to the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic, Concordia-St. Paul athletics, along with the rest of the campus community, will continue to follow Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) guidelines.
While current policy allows for college athletics teams to train, practice and compete while meeting testing standards set forth by the MDH as well as the NCAA Sport Science Institute (SSI), CSP athletics officials must also adhere to policy regarding fan attendance and general game management protocol.
For at least the first two weekends of basketball season, fans will not be allowed to attend CSP home games. The women and men will face the same opponent but at opposite locations.
The women open at home against Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, January 2 and Sunday, January 3 with 2 p.m. tip-offs. The men open at home against Wayne State on Friday, January 8 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, January 9 at 2 p.m.
Fans can watch the games online, free of charge through the NSIC Network, powered by BlueFrame Technology. CSP's games can be viewed directly on the web by visiting
www.nsicnetwork.com/cspbears or by download the OTP app by searching "NSIC" or "NSIC Network" which is available on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV.
Home games will feature the play-by-play call of Dan Flanagan, the longtime Voice of the Golden Bears. Flanagan, a St. Paul native, is a professionally trained broadcaster where he earned his degree at Fordham (N.Y.) University, calling the Division I action for basketball, football and other sports.
For fans looking to watch games on the road, all NSIC games will be streamed and available at the above link or in the OTP apps. In-person attendance may vary by school depending on state/local guidance, be sure to visit opposing athletics websites for more information.
Officials at Concordia-St. Paul are constantly reviewing national, state, local, conference and NCAA guidelines to ensure compliance while balancing positive experiences for student-athletes and spectators.
