BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released the 2018-19 NSIC Men's Basketball All-Conference teams and Concordia-St. Paul's Bryndan Matthews was named to the Second Team while Isaiah McKay was named the Newcomer of the Year.
 
Matthews became the first Golden Bear to earn All-NSIC honors since Cole Olstad was named to the Second Team in the 2015-16 season while Isaiah McKay became just the second player in program history to be named Newcomer of the Year.
 
St. Cloud State's Gage Davis garnered NSIC Player of the Year honors while AJ Plizuweit of Augustana was named Freshman of the Year and Sean Smith of St. Cloud State was named Defensive Player of the Year. Northern State head coach Paul Sather was named the NSIC Coach of the Year.
 
#23 Bryndan Matthews (G, 6-4, Sr., Eagan, Minn. / Eagan HS)

• All-NSIC Second Team
• Two-time NSIC Player of the Week (11/19 & 2/25)
• Ranked seventh in the NSIC and 84th in the country in scoring (18.8)
• Finished second in the conference and 64th in the nation in rebounding (8.3)
• Also ranked second in the league and 31st in the country in field goal percentage (58.0%) and seventh in the league in assists (4.1)
• Added the fourth-best assist-to-turnover ratio in the NSIC (2.4) and the second-most minutes per game (37.2)
• CSP's all-time leading scorer with 3,920 points
• Also holds program records in field goals made (676) and minutes played (3,920)
• Set the single-season scoring record at Concordia with 546 points
• Scored 30+ points in three games while also registering six double-doubles
• Finished in double figures in scoring in all but three games, reaching 20+ points 12 times

 
#15 Isaiah McKay (G, 6-2, Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn. / Park Center HS / Nebraska-Kearney)

• NSIC Newcomer of the Year
• NSIC Player of the Week (11/13)
• Ranked ninth in the NSIC and 98th in the nation in scoring (18.4)
• Set the program record and ranked eighth in country in free throw percentage (90.5%)
• Also ranked ninth in the NSIC in threes made per game (2.3) and 14th in assists (3.2)
• Hit 46.7% (182-390) from the floor and 39.6% (65-164) from beyond the arc on the year
• His 515 points were fourth-most in single-season program history
• Scored in double figures in 25 of 28 games, including 13 games with 20+ and one with 30+
• Hit a three-pointer in all but three games, hitting three or more in 13 games
