Mulvihill and Macek both earn NSIC Player of the Week honors

Mulvihill named Offensive Player of the Week and Macek named Defensive Player of the Week

BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) released weekly release and Concordia-St. Paul had Jasmine Mulvihill named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week and Sara Macek named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week. Mulvhill earned the honor for the second time this season and Macek picked up her first selection of the year.

NSIC Offensive Player of the Week
#8 Jasmine Mulvihill (OH/RS, 5-11, Fr., Lakeville, Minn. / Lakeville South HS) - Concordia-St. Paul

- Led CSP with 4.33 kills per set (26 total kills) in sweeps of USF and No. 3 NSU
- Hit .340 as she committed just eight errors on her 53 swings
- Added 3.00 digs per set (18 total digs), 1.00 blocks per set (six total blocks) and 0.50 aces per set
- Ranks ninth in kills per set (4.06) and 14th in hitting percentage (.303) in conference play
- Named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season (9/16/19)

NSIC Defensive Player of the Week
#12 Sara Macek (MB, 6'0, Sr.,  Monticello, Minn. / Monticello HS) - Concordia-St. Paul

- Paced the squad with 2.33 blocks per set (one solo and 13 block assists) on the weekend
- Helped CSP finish with a staggering 23.0-3.0 edge in blocks in the two wins
- Set a career best with 8.0 total blocks in the win over No. 3 NSU
- Also chipped in 2.33 kills per set (14 total kills) and hit .303 in the two matches

NSIC Setter of the Week
#4 Emily (Torve) Balts (S, 5'8, Sr., Lorette, Minn.     / Heritage Christian Academy) - UMD

- Recorded 5,000th career assist in the third set of a win over Sioux Falls
- Led UMD to a .267 hitting percentage on the week in wins over USF and No. 11 SMSU
- Had 84 assists on week, including 47 in come-from-behind five set win over SMSU
- Named NSIC Setter of the Week for the third time this season (9/16/19 & 9/30/19)

#3 Kate Berg (UMD)
- 3.75 kills/set in wins (30 total, 15 v (RV) Sioux Falls (0 errors), 15 v No. 11 SMSU); recorded 1,000th Kill in third set v No. 11 SMSU; 10.875 attacks/set in wins (84 total, 34 v (RV) Sioux Falls, 54 v No. 11 SMSU); 4.06 pts/set in wins; swung at a .287 clip for weekend, including .455 against (RV) Sioux Falls; 2 digs/set in wins (16 total); .5 digs/set (4 total, all against No. 11 SMSU).
#10 Morgan Olson (MSU) - Recorded 39 kills over two matches including 20 against Northern State, while hitting a combined .346; added 11 digs, four blocks, and two service aces on the weekend; with 1210 career kills, Olson is currently 9th all-time in career kills at Minnesota State.
#10 Laura Snyder (NSU) - Led Northern State hitting .412 versus (RV) MSU and #7 CSP; tallied 33 kills, averaging 4.71 per set; hit a weekend high .462 versus the Mavericks with 20 kills; added 16 digs, 4 assists, 4 blocks, and 1 ace.
#20 Anna Winter (UIU) - Averaged 5.17 kills per set (31 total) in home wins over UMary and Minot State; tallied a .459 attacking percentage over the weekend including a .529 mark against UMary (18-0-34); extended her streak of matches with double-figure kills to 34 games; moved into third place all-time in career kills with 1,213; added nine digs, two aces, and a block.
#8 Megan Flom (WSU) - Hit .510 over two WSU wins; floored 27 kills while committing just two errors; has hit .500 or better in a match five of her last eight matches; leads NSIC with a .408 clip; added two service aces, five blocks and six digs.

Defense
#1 Erika Bute (AUGIE)
- Tallied 32 digs over the weekend in wins over Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston  Averaged 5.3 digs per set over the weekend; added 12 assists on the weekend; ranks second in the NSIC with 5.54 digs per set on the season.
#2 Keena Seiffert (UMD) - 4.86 digs/set in wins (39 v (RV) Sioux Falls, 16 v No.11 SMSU; both match highs); .875 assists per set in wins (5 total); .375 aces in wins (3 total).
#15 Clara Krenz (SCSU) led #13 SCSU to two NSIC wins over #11 SMSU and (RV) Sioux Falls; Tallied 34 digs to average 4.86 per set over the weekend; added four aces and three assists; Tallied 16 digs and a season-high four aces in a comeback win over #11 SMSU; added 18 digs in the win over Sioux Falls Saturday; Is 12 digs away from becoming the first player in program history with 2000 in a career
#5 Haley Weepie (UIU) - Averaged 7.00 digs per set in home wins over UMary and Minot State; recorded 23 digs (7.7/set) against Minot State to notch her sixth game of the season with 20+ digs; added five assists and an ace.

SETTER
#9 Avery Thorson (AUGIE) - Averaged 11.6 assists per set (70 assists) in sweeps over Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston as the offensive hit on a .245 clip against Bemidji State and .221 against Minnesota Crookston; second on the team with a .246 attacking percentage; leads the team with 10.03 assists per set on the season; added 18 digs and two aces on the weekend.
#3 Maddie Mackinac (BSU) - Totaled 71 assists over seven sets for a 10.14 assists per set average; helped the Beavers hit .175 over two matches; guided the Beavers' attack with 47 assists and helped the Beavers hit .242 in a 3-1 upset over No. 8 Wayne State; recorded 24 assists in a 3-0 loss versus Augustana.
#8 Ashley Rozell (NSU) - Tallied 90 total assists over the weekend versus (RV) MSU and #7 CSP; averaged 12.86 assists per set; 23 assists away from breaking the Northern State career record; added 18 digs, 3 blocks, and 1 kill.
#8 Carlee Ketchum (UIU) - Paced the Peacock offense to a .370 hitting percentage in their home sweeps of U-Mary and Minot State; averaged 12.33 assists per set (74 total); added 11 digs, a team-high three aces, four total blocks (1 solo), and a kill; moved into fifth place all-time in career assists with 1,279.
#2 Bre Maloney (WSU) - Averaged 9.5 assists/set (57 total) over two wins; set the offense to a .373 clip; added two blocks, six kills and 11 digs.
