Tuesday's doubleheader moved to Veterans Field

First pitch scheduled for 11 a.m. at Minnetonka High School

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Concordia-St. Paul (11-3, 4-0 NSIC) head baseball coach Mark "Lunch" McKenzie has announced that Tuesday's doubleheader against Bemidji State (4-12, 2-2 NSIC) has been moved to Veterans Field at Minnetonka High School. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
 
SCHEDULE INFORMATION
Due to the field conditions at Bob Barnes Field, Concordia's doubleheader with the Beavers has been moved to Veterans Field at Minnetonka High School. The shift to Minnetonka marks the third consecutive day the team is scheduled to play there and the fifth consecutive home date moved there. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.

Live stats will be available to follow online, while the athletic department will also produce a one camera video webcast with play-by-play provided by Dan Flanagan. The Voice of the Golden Bears since 2008, Flanagan is a St. Paul native and a graduate of Fordham University in New York where he specialized in radio broadcasting.
 
BSU SERIES HISTORY
The Golden Bears and Beavers have met 61 previous times heading into next week's meeting with Concordia holding a 37-24 edge in the all-time series. BSU got off to a fast start with wins in the first eight meetings until 2003, but CSP has taken control since then. The Beavers put together their best stretch in recent history from 2014-15 as they won four of five contests, but the Golden Bears have answered back by sweeping the season series in each of the last two seasons as a part of a seven game winning streak against Bemidji State. At home, CSP holds a 16-10 record and at a neutral site they have gone 7-6.
 
LAST MEETING WITH THE BEAVERS
In last season's doubleheader with Bemidji State, Concordia took game one 6-3 before grabbing a 13-2 win in in eight innings in game two.
 
The Golden Bears held an edge in nearly every statistical category. The Golden Bears slashed .348/.436/.500 as a team compared to .154/.258/.173 for the Beavers. On the mound, Concordia held an edge of 3.00 to 9.00 in ERA and 17 to 5 in strikeouts as well. CSP also committed just one error while the Beavers had five.
 
Concordia received production from several places in the lineup, but Isaac HormannRoch Whittaker and Tanner Holmquist led the way with at least four hits apiece.
 
Hormann slashed an impressive .714/.778/1.286 as he was retired just twice in nine trips to the plate. He also drove in four and scored three, including falling a triple shy of the cycle in game two.
 
Whittaker picked up four hits in six trips (.667 average) to go along with a pair of walks as he picked up two hits and drove in two runs in each game.
 
Holmquist registered five hits in nine at-bats, including his first homer of the year, while scoring three and driving in two to go along with a steal.
