INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The second NCAA Volleyball Regional Rankings of the season have been released and the Concordia-St. Paul volleyball team remained in the top spot. The Golden Bears are joined by four other NSIC schools as the league represents five of the top ten spots.
Minnesota Duluth remained fifth while Northern State slipped three spots to sixth. Southwest Minnesota State dropped a spot to seventh while Sioux Falls remained ninth in the second of three rankings.
The Golden Bears have hosted the NCAA Central Region Tournament nine times heading into this season, including two out of the last three seasons. Last year, CSP traveled to SMSU to claim their 11th region title under head coach
Brady Starkey.
The NSIC, the Mid-America Athletic Association (MIAA) and the Great American Conference (GAC) make up the 40-team NCAA Central Region. The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA region tournament on November 15-18. Automatic bids are granted to the winners of the MIAA, GAC and NSIC postseason tournaments, with the remaining five spots awarded on an at-large basis.
The NCAA Volleyball selection show will be streamed online on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 9 p.m. on NCAA.com.
The championship quarterfinals, semifinals and final match will take place Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 29-Dec. 1, at the A.J. Palumbo Center in Pittsburgh, hosted by Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and SportsPITTSBURGH as part of the NCAA Division II National Championship Fall Festival.
