CLERMONT, Fla. – The Concordia Golden Bears softball team (3-10) used a four run seventh inning and a walk-off double to complete the comeback and defeat Auburn Montgomery (16-13) by a final score of 7-6.

After a scoreless first inning, Auburn Montgomery tallied the first run of the game in the top of the second taking an early 1-0 lead. The Golden Bears would respond right away as
Hannah Carlson led off the home half of the second with a solo home run tying the game at one.
In the third, CSP starter
Samantha Sullivan (2-5) struck out the first two batters but AUM responded with a walk and a single to right field. The runners would advance on the throw put runners on second and third. Sullivan would get out of the jam forcing the next Warhawk batter into a groundout ending the inning.
After a walk, single and error with two outs in the bottom of the third, the Golden Bears loaded the bases and brought in two runs on back-to-back wild pitches to take a 3-1 lead.
In the fourth AUM had runners on second and third with two outs but again Sullivan got of the jam with a strikeout to end the half inning.
CSP would go down one-two-three in the bottom of the fourth before the Warhawks would take a 4-3 lead with a 3-run home run by Sydney Dishman in the top of the fifth.
After a scoreless sixth inning, AUM added two insurance runs in the top of the seventh thanks to a solo home run to begin the seventh and a sacrifice fly with two outs giving Auburn Montgomery a 6-3 lead with a half inning to play.
In final half inning of play
Carlie Hart would lead off with a full count walk.
Nicole Thompson would then single and then
Justine Schattner walked loading the bases for CSP with no outs.
Liz Jarosz would then strikeout swinging before
Haley Schanks would double down the left field line scoring all three runners and tying the game at six.
The Golden Bears would then cap off the comeback with a RBI double to right center field by
Hannah Carlson, scoring Schanks from second and giving CSP the 7-6 win.
Sullivan took the win going the distance allowing nine hits, six runs (five earned), while striking out a career-high seven batters.
Carlson and Schanks led the Golden Bears at the plate going 3-4 and 2-3, respectively. Schanks led the team with three RBI and Carlson added a home run and two RBI. Carlson finished just a triple shy of the cycle.
Kaylee Sparks led the way for AUM going a perfect 4-4 at the plate with a pair of doubles while scoring a run. Sydney Dishman and Parker Pinholster each recorded a solo home run in the loss.
Concordia is currently in action against #19 Indianapolis and will later face Saint Michael's (Vt.) at 7:30 tonight.
