ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul softball team (1-2) notched their first win of the season against Viterbo (Wis.) (0-3) by a score of 10-1 in five innings on day two of the Kelly Laas Memorial Invitational.

Linzy Heim took the win in the circle for the Golden Bears as she pitched four innings, allowed only four hits, one run, and struck out two.
- Viterbo scored their lone run of the game in the top of the first inning off a home run by Lauren Davis with two outs.
- It did not take long for CSP to respond as they scored six runs in the home half of the first.
- With runners on the corners
Liz Jarosz drove in the runner on third with an RBI single to tie the game.
- Two batters later with runners on second and third,
Hannah Carlson would drive in both runners with an RBI single and giving Concordia a 3-1 lead.
- Carlson would steal second and then
Emily Shinn would drive her in with another RBI single for CSP. Shinn would advance to second on a throwing error.

Elena Koncar would reach safely on a fielding error and then advance to second on the error. Shinn would score on the fielding error.
- The final run of the first inning for the Golden Bears would come off an RBI double by
Lily Langevin.
- After a scoreless second inning, Heim would get out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the third to hold their five run lead.
- In the home half of the third, Concordia's first two batters were retired before Koncar singled to keep the inning alive. Langevin would then lay down a bunt and reach safely on another throwing advancing her to second and Koncar to third.
- Carly Hart would give the Golden Bears their seventh run of the game with a RBI single that scored Koncar.
Nicole Thompson would follow with a bunting single which loaded the bases.

Justine Schattner would drive in two more runs with another RBI single, but would advance to second on the throw home which was too late.

Sarah Kivisto would drive in the final run of the game on a fielder's choice giving Concordia a 10-1 lead.
- CSP would tally five hits and four runs in bottom of the third.
- In the fourth inning both teams would go down one, two, three and with one last chance in the top of the fifth, the V-Hawks could not produce any runs giving the Golden Bears their first win of the season.
- Schattner and Langevin would each go 2-2 at the plate while Schattner and Carlson each drove in a pair of RBI for the game.
- Elli Anderson was the only V-Hawk to come away with two hits and Lauren Davis would go 1-1 with a solo home run and a pair of walks.
- Sarah Obert took the loss going two and two-thirds innings while allowing 11 hits and 10 runs (eight earned).
- This was the first meeting between Concordia and Viterbo.
