ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul men's basketball team (1-3) continues non-conference play on Tuesday night as they play host to Augsburg (0-2) on Tuesday night at Gangelhoff Center.
LAST TIME OUT
Concordia will look to build off of a strong showing in their home opener as took care of conference foe Bemidji State in a 70-58 win on Thursday night.
Concordia's defense made life tough on the Beavers as they held them to just 58 points on 31.7% (19-60) shooting and 28.0% (7-25) from three. The offense was equally impressive as the Golden Bears knocked down 50.0% (29-58) from the field and 35.0% (7-20) from deep in the win. The Golden Bears dominated in several other areas as they held a 39-32 edge on the glass as well as a massive 38-20 edge in the paint. CSP also picked up a 9-0 advantage in fast break points in an all-around solid effort.

Ted Brown provided a formidable inside-outside duo as both picked up 16 points on an efficient night from the floor. Powell shot 6-10 and 3-4 from beyond the arc as he also chipped in seven boards and four assists for a full line while Brown was a perfect 7-7 from the floor and 2-2 from the line to go along with six boards on the night.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS AUGSBURG
In the 12 previous meetings with Augsburg, the Golden Bears have managed just a pair of wins. Only one meeting has come since Concordia moved to Division II, however, as CSP handed the Auggies a 91-75 loss at Gangelhoff Center back in 2008. Concordia's only other win came on their home court back in 1993 as CSP has gone 2-4 in the series on their home court.
LAST MEETING
Back in 2008, the Golden Bears rode a hot-shooting night to victory as they hit 55.0% (33-60) from the floor, 44.4% (8-18) from three, and 85.0% (17.20) en route to a 91-75 win.
Sammy Ricks led the way with a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds in 34 minutes while Matt Cadwell finished with 18 points and Craig Heiman added 15.
ABOUT THE AUGGIES
Augsburg, a Division III school located just up the road on the north side of Highway 94, enters Tuesday looking for their first win after falling to Simpson College and Buenta Vista over the weekend.
The Auggies are led by Collin Olmscheid and his 23.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game as he's connected on an efficient 65.4% (17-26) from the field and 60.0% (6-10) from three through two games this season. Chuckie Smith joins him in double figures as he enters with 15.5 points per game and 3.5 threes made per game on the young season. Despite averaging just 1.0 point per game, Richie Perea has also been active for Augsburg with a team-leading 5.0 assists per game to go along with 6.0 rebounds per game.
