ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Golden Bear baseball team (14-12, 12-6 NSIC) remains on the road in the middle of a 12-game road stand at Northern State (15-15, 9-9 NSIC) on Wednesday with a doubleheader scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch at Fossum Field in Aberdeen, S.D.
Concordia is coming off of a four game sweep at U-Mary to start the 12-game road stand and already has a 7-1 road record on the season. Northern State is also coming off of a four game sweep, defeating Upper Iowa at home in a series in which the Wolves scored at least 11 runs in all four games and had a +30 scoring margin over the four games. Northern State is 6-3 at home on the year.
SERIES HISTORY: Concordia 42, Northern State 9The Golden Bears hold a 42-9 series lead over the Wolves entering the 52nd and 53 meetings dating back to Concordia's first year in the NSIC in 2000. Concordia is 17-5 at Northern State in Aberdeen, splitting the last two doubleheaders there in 2012 and 2010. The Wolves have had recent success, winning three of the last four contests in the series.
