TUCSON, Ariz. - Concordia-St. Paul baseball (2-6) closed out its spring to the Tucson Invitational Games with an 8-4 loss to Lubbock Christian (11-13) on Tuesday morning at Kino Sports Complex. Lubbock Christian snapped a five game skid with the victory.
The Golden Bears took the lead in the second inning on an
Eric Fasnacht RBI double to deep left center field and carried the lead to the bottom of the eighth inning.
Concordia extended the lead to 3-0 when
Andrew Shotwell came through with a 2-run single with runners on second and third and no outs, punching a line drive through a drawn in infield in the sixth inning.
The Golden Bears weren't able to extend the lead, missing out on nine sacrifice bunt opportunities and leaving nine runners on base including six in scoring position.
Junior left handed starting pitcher

Junior right handed pitcher
Yuji Suzuki relieved him in the seventh, making quick work of the Chaps in a 10-pitch, three-up and three-down inning.
But the Chaps rallied in the eight off Suzuki, putting the first five runners on base including a 3-run bases clearing double that put LCU ahead 5-4. He was charged with his first loss of the year.
LCU continued the rally, getting a 2-run single with the bases loaded later in the inning as the Chaps put up six runs to take their first lead, 8-4.
