ST. PAUL, Minn. - This week, Concordia-St. Paul (1-2) will be playing a pair of games, one on the road at Bemidji State (3-0) on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at BSU Gymnasium and another at home against Peru State (3-5) on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Gangelhoff Center.

Concordia's webcast portal courtesy of Stretch Internet, with the game at BSU produced by BSU athletics and Concordia's home game produced by Stream Powered Productions on Saturday.
The Golden Bears are coming off of a 73-63 win over St. Olaf, the 15th-ranked team in Division III men's basketball, on Saturday night at Gangelhoff Center in the home opener.
For the third straight game,
Cole Olstad led the team in scoring with his second 20-plus point performance. He scored 17 of his 20 points before the break to help teh Golden Bears to a 42-30 halftime advantage. He added seven rebounds and leads the team in scoring (18.3), rebounding (7.0), assists (2.7), three-pointers made (7), free throw shooting (12-15) and is tied for the team lead with two blocks. He also became the 14th player in team history to reach 1,100 career points.
In the win over St. Olaf, freshman
Bryndan Matthews added a season-high 10 points and matched his previous high from the opener with seven rebounds while coming off the bench. On the year, he's averaging 7.0 points and 6.7 rebounds in his debut season.
The team's second leading scorer is junior transfer guard
Diallo Powell, averaging 8.7 points while pulling down the third most rebounds, 5.0 per game. He also has a club high four steals and is tied with Olstad with two blocks.
ABOUT THE BEAVERSThe Beavers are off to a strong start, averaging 86.3 points per game and scoring at least 84 points in each of their first three non-conference games, all victories while holding the opposition to 55 and under. BSU has played three non-Division II opponents, defeating Northland (84-55), Crown (86-48) and Mayville State (89-52). BSU also defeated a pair of NAIA teams in exhibition games most recently, topping Cardinal Stritch (76-69) and Jamestown (91-78) last weekend.
Four Beavers average in double-figures led by Ben Best at 13.3 points on 70.8 percent shooting from the floor. William Harvey averages 11.0 points and a team-high 7.3 rebounds while Christian Pekarek pours in 13.0 points and leads the team with 17 assists (5.7/game). Elijah Valdez leads the bench with 12.0 points per game.
ABOUT THE BOBCATSPeru State has already competed in eight contests in the 2015-16 season, including its first Heart of America Athletic Conference games as the Bobcats are off to a 1-1 league record. PSC's 87-78 win on Saturday at home over Central Methodist snapped a four game losing streak. This week, Peru State will be playing at Washburn on Tuesday and at Minnesota State-Mankato on Friday in a pair of exhibition games for the Bobcats but regular season games for its DII opponents. Saturday's game at Concordia will be an official contest for PSC.
Prior to the win over Central Methodist, Peru State's other two wins saw the Bobcats eclipse the century mark, defeating Bacone College 114-78 and St. Gregory 105-90. On the year, the Bobcats average 86.6 points while surrendering 84.6 per game.
Corday Sims leads the Bobcats with 23.9 points per game, adding 6.1 rebounds per game while sinking 26 three-pointers on the year. Darwin Ellis contributes 15.6 points and leads the team with 4.8 assists per game and has buried 19 three-pointers. Kris Frazier is the team leader on the glass with 8.8 rebounds per game while adding PSC's third double-digit scoring presence with 10.6 points per game and 11 blocked shots. He converts at a 58.3 percent rate from the field, as well.
SERIES NOTES VS BSU & PERU ST- Concordia is 13-14 against BSU, but 12-3 in the last 15 meetings while the teams have split the last eight games played in Bemidji dating back to 2006.

- This 28th meeting marks the first non-conference contest between the programs in a series that opened when CSP joined the NSIC in 1999-2000

LAST MEETING, 2014-15: CONCORDIA 70, BEMIDJI STATE 66The Golden Bears won their third straight road game at BSU at Sanford Center, home of the Beavers Division I hockey program. Concordia trailed by as many as 11 early in the second half before an extended 32-14 run over 12 minutes of play gave Concordia a 61-54 lead with 7:23 to play.
Terez VanPelt became the third player in team history to reach 1,400 career points with eight in the contest, helping run an offense that committed only eight team turnovers (one by VanPelt).
Keith Crockett was a defensive force with six steals, adding eight points despite just one field goal attempt as he made 6-10 at the stripe.

LAST MEETING, 2007-08: CONCORDIA 69, PERU STATE 67The Golden Bears opened the season with a 2-point win as Matt Cadwell buried a game-winning jumper with 1.5 seconds left in regulation to end a game that featured 12 ties and 21 lead changes with the largest lead for either team being seven points. Cadwell finished with 14 points and four assists for Concordia. The Golden Bears were led in scoring by current all-time scoring leader Craig Heiman with 22 points, while Mike Cunningham added 11 points, six assists and five rebounds.
