ST. PAUL, Minn. - This weekend, Concordia-St. Paul (8-5, 4-3 NSIC) takes its three game winning streak on the road at #12 Augustana (13-1, 7-1 NSIC) and Wayne State (3-11, 0-8 NSIC) in a rematch of NSIC opening weekend on December 5-6, 2014 at Gangelhoff Center.
The Golden Bears will play the Vikings at Sioux Falls Arena on Friday at 8 p.m. before heading south to Wayne, Neb. to face the Wildcats at Rice Auditorium on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Concordia defeated WSC 72-59 on December 5 at Gangelhoff Center before falling to Augustana 65-59 on December 6 despite holding the Vikings to a season-low 65 points which was nearly 21 points below their season average at the time when they were ranked #11 in the nation.
Concordia continues to boast one of the top defenses in the Northern Sun, regularly eliminating an opponents top player and turning them into liabilities instead of assets. Earlier in the year, Concordia held 6-foot, 9-inch big man Daniel Jansen of Augustana to 2-11 shooting including 0-3 from inside the arc for an eight point, six rebound and four turnover evening. Most recently, Concordia shut down SCSU's Jordan Poydras to a 4-15 shooting night for 11 points and six turnovers while holding a high scoring Husky squad to just 57 points.
The team will need another strong defensive performance to pick off the Vikings and Wildcats this weekend. For the complete preview on Concordia basketball,
