ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia University women's soccer team (0-3-0, 0-1-0 NSIC) will look to complete their season-opening, five-game road trip as they travel to Southwest Minnesota State (2-2-0, 1-0-0 NSIC) on Saturday and Sioux Falls (0-3-1, 0-1-0 NSIC) on Sunday. Both matches are set to begin at 1 p.m. each day.

Concordia has had a lot of success recently against SMSU as they have won seven of the last eight meetings and have outsocred them 20-8 in that span. The Mustangs started off the series going 8-0-1 but have only won once since then. Last year, Southwest came to St. Paul and grabbed a 3-0 on October 26th.

The all-time series against Sioux Falls has been dominated by CU as the Golden Bears have won all four meetings by a combined score of 10-3. Last season, Concordia erupted for three goals in the first half en route to a 3-1 win. Emily Ecklund opened the scoring in the 10th minute while Alahna Anderson added two of her 10 goals on the season in the match.

The Golden Bears enter the weekend in search of their first goal of the season after some hard fought losses to begin the season. Last week, Concordia fell 3-0 to #7 Minnesota State on Thursday and 2-0 to Viterbo on Sunday. CU kept Thursday's game with the Mavericks scoreless into the half and had several chances to pull ahead. MSU bounced back with three early goals in the second half to put it away. Sunday's match against Viterbo started a bit differently as the V-Hawks grabbed two goals in a flurry early in the game, forcing the Golden Bears to play from behind most of the day. Concordia out-shot Viterbo in the game but were unable to put one in the net.

McKenzie Buck was active offensively for Concordia with five shots, including two on net, in the two matches. Keeper Emma Gartner fell to 0-3 on the year but did make a combined nine saves on the week.

Live video and stats will be available for both matches this weekend.
