ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia-St. Paul head baseball coach
Mark "Lunch" McKenzie has announced that the team will move its home doubleheader this Wednesday to Woodside Sports Complex field one in Mauston, Wis. against Minnesota Duluth. First pitch is still set for 1:30 for the NSIC doubleheader.
Unplayable field conditions on both campuses and lack of other open fields sparked the change. The Bulldogs just played Minnesota State at Woodside on Sunday and Monday.
Woodside Sports Complex features eight all turf fields and proclaims itself as "the Midwest's largest all-turf sports complex."
The Golden Bears are 11-5 overall and 3-3 in the Northern Sun and coming off a momentum shifting victory over #15 St. Cloud State in the series finale at Veterans Field on Sunday afternoon. Concordia has a pair of wins over U-Mary and one against SCSU.
UMD is 4-12 overall and off to an 0-6 start in the Northern Sun as the Bulldogs will be seeking their first conference win. The Bulldogs dropped a pair of close games at Wayne State on opening NSIC weekend in Wayne, Neb. before dropping four close games to MSU this last Sunday and Monday. UMD's six NSIC losses have all been by three runs or less.
