ST. PAUL, Minn. -
Concordia-St. Paul head softball coach Bob Bartel announced that this weekend's scheduled four game road trip to Crookston & Bemidji, Minn. has been relocated to the West. St. Paul Regional Athletics Center due to unplayable fields and predicted poor weather at the host campuses. The series has also been pushed back a day, playing UM Crookston on Sunday, March 30 at 8:30 a.m. and Bemidji State on Monday, March 31 at 10 a.m.

Concordia enters the weekend 0-2 in Northern Sun play and 5-17 overall after dropping a pair of games to Minnesota State today. Minnesota State will be playing the opposite teams at the same times in the same facility which is able to accommodate two softball fields.

UMC and BSU will each be playing in their Northern Sun openers, having delayed a doubleheader against each other to later in the season.

Stephanie Kappes (3-12) will look to improve her luck after collecting five losses in games in which she has thrown at least six innings and given up three or less runs on the year. The junior has struck out 56 hitters and has picked up at least five strikeouts in five starts this season. Her best performance came in a shutout of Lees-McRae on March 15th. She allowed only four hits while striking out five and walking one in the 5-0 win.

On the basepaths, Alicia Meiser continues to climb the ladder in the stolen base category. In just her junior year, she ranks third in career steals at 79. She has went 12-13 so far this year and sits just 29 steals shy of the school record. Meiser also has a .328 batting average hitting at the top of the Golden Bear lineup on the young season.

Minnesota Crookston enters the the NSIC season with a 2-11 record in their non-conference slate. They are led at the dish by Josee Plante and Paige Schaust, who each enter with a .333 batting average.

The Beavers of Bemidji State are off to a strong start this spring with an 11-5 record heading into NSIC play. In the circle, Jessica Yost has been outstanding with a 3-1 record in five starts with an 0.77 ERA. At the plate, Nicole Dupay leads BSU in most offensive categories with a slash line of .368/.419/.596 alond with two home runs and 10 RBI.
