ST. PAUL, Minn. - Champions of the Central Region and NSIC Tournaments, Concordia-St. Paul embarks on its first trip to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Elite Eight held at Erie Insurance Arena in Erie, Pa. and hosted by Gannon University.
The Golden Bears (28-8) will play #10 Nova Southeastern University (27-4) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Tuesday, March 25 at 1:30 p.m. (CDT) in the national quarterfinals. The Sharks are champions of the South Region.
Concordia has won nine straight games and 17 of its last 19. The Golden Bears hold a 7-1 record at neutral sites and are 7-4 against USA Today Top-25 teams on the season.
The seventh seed from the Central Region, Concordia joins five number one seeds including Nova Southeastern. The Concordia/Nova Southeastern winner will play the Limestone/West Texas A&M winner in the Final Four (national semifinals) on Wednesday, March 26 at 5 p.m. central time. Limestone is also a seventh seed while WTAMU is a number one seed. The other side of the bracket features three number one seeds and a number two seed.
