ST. PAUL, Minn.
 – Rachel Hansen became the 25th member of the 1,000 point club at Concordia as the #20 Concordia Golden Bears women's basketball team (10-4, 5-2 NSIC) got back in the win column with a 95-63 win against the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs (7-4, 4-3 NSIC) at the Gangelhoff Center on Friday night.

Hansen finished the night a point shy of her season-high with 20 points as she was an efficient 6-9 from the floor and 7-8 from the free throw line as she become the second member of the team to break the 1,000 point mark this season along with Anika Whiting.

Ameshia Kearney also broke the 20+ point plateau with a game-high and career-high 23 points on 7-12 shooting and 5-7 from beyond the arc.  She also grabbed five boards and handed out five assists.  Whiting was the third member of the Golden Bears in double figures with 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Hannah Rutten and Katrina Newman provided the offense for the Bulldogs off the bench as Rutten finished with 14 points on 6-11 shooting while Newman hit 3-4 shots and all four of her free throws for 10 points along with seven rebounds.

The offense was clicking all night long as the Golden Bears easily set a new season high with 95 points.  The 95 points were the most in a game for CU since a 108-74 win over U-Mary on February 18th, 2011.  The Golden Bears went into the half shooting 48.4% and improved that number to 54.3% in the second half.  They finished the game an impressive 35-68 (51.5%) from the floor, their best mark on the year.  Concordia also set a season high with 28 assists on their 35 makes and tied a season high with nine threes made.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair for much of the early going as the two teams traded baskets.  Concordia jumped out to a small early lead before a pair of Katrina Newman hit a pair of free throws to give UMD a 12-11 lead with 14:33 to go in the half.  The Bulldogs maintained the lead until the Golden Bears evened the score at 24 at the 6:42 mark.  Concordia closed out the half with a flurry as they outscored Minnesota Duluth 25-13 to finish the half and take a 49-37 lead going into the break.

The Golden Bears picked up right where they left off as they stretched the lead out to 25 at 68-43 following a 17-2 run that spanned just under five minutes.  The lead hit 30 at 87-57 with 3:23 left as the Golden Bears cruised to a 95-63 win.

Concordia is back in action tomorrow night as the St. Cloud State Huskies come to the Gangelhoff Center.  Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
