ST. PAUL, Minn.
– On Thursday, September 12th the Concordia University Department of Athletics is proud to host "Make-A-Wish" night as the women's soccer team plays host to Minnesota State-Mankato at Sea Foam Stadium at 7:00 p.m.  One dollar of each purchased ticket will be donated to Make-A-Wish Minnesota as will all proceeds from the Golden Bear Raffle that will take place until the start of halftime.  You can find additional information on the raffle by going to the link at the top of the page.

The Golden Bears (0-2-0) return home from a trip to Pueblo, Colo. for a pair of games against UC-Colorado Springs and CSU-Pueblo.  Concordia dropped the opener 3-0 to UCCS and lost a 1-0 decision to CSUP.  The team played better than the scores showed as they controlled play for long periods of time and outshot their opponents in both matches.

#4 Minnesota State (2-0-0) opened up their season with a 1-0 win over Truman and a 3-0 win over #11 Central Missouri.  The opening weekend sweep helped the Mavericks move up two spots from their preseason #6 ranking.  MSU is the defending regular season NSIC champion and made a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight last season.

Historically, the Mavericks have been a difficult opponent for the Golden Bears, winning the first nine meetings between the two schools.

Last year, CU traveled to Mankato for the conference opener and dropped the match 4-1.  Amanda Olsen gave CU a 1-0 lead at the 10:06 mark, but Mankato evened the score 36 seconds later on a Nicole Dooher goal.  The score would remain tied until 34th minute when Mankato would take a 2-1 lead on a goal from Sydney Temple.  Minnesota State tacked on two more goals in the second half to give them a 4-1 victory.

This match will be the first conference game for both squads.  Watch live online or follow live stats on the links above.
