ST. PAUL, Minn. -
The Concordia-St. Paul baseball team (3-4) returns to the Metrodome this week for a pair of non-conference doubleheaders against Jamestown (3-1) and Missouri S&T (0-3) on Tuesday and Friday morning at 7 a.m., respectively.

Concordia is coming off a 2-1 week last week at the Dome, sweeping Saint John's with a pair of 2-0 wins, before falling 8-7 in the bottom of the seventh inning to Southwest Minnesota State on Wednesday. The Golden Bears held a 3-1 lead over the Mustangs in the second game entering the top of the sixth inning when the game was suspended due to time limit and can be resumed at a later date via the halted game rule.

A pair of Golden Bears stood out last week, as Kyle Dalton (Minnetonka, Minn.) and John Hayes (Lakeville, Minn.) earned NSIC Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Dalton is leading the team in hitting at .381, while Drew Turk (Plainfield, Ill.) and Paul Giel III (Minnetonka, Minn.) have produced team-highs with four RBI each. Elliot Powell (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Mick Sawinski (St. Louis Park, Minn.) each lead the club with two doubles, and Greg Larpenter (Urbandale, Iowa) has a team-high .464 on base percentage.

The pitching staff has been led by Hayes and Griff Kilber (Chanhassen, Minn.) with 0.00 earned run averages through a combined 17.1 innings in five appearances (one start). Concordia's pitching staff has mounted a 4.11 team ERA in 50-plus innings with a 37-14 strikeout-walk ratio.

The defense has played well behind the pitchers, holding a .976 fielding percentage with only five errors in seven games. They've turned seven double plays, averaging one per game. They also have five outfield assists as Concordia's outfield of Larpenter (CF), Turk (LF) and Giel (RF) is made for the larger outfield at the Metrodome.

Concordia has never faced Missouri S&T, and last faced Jamestown in Tucson, Ariz. last year with the Jimmies winning 7-3.
