BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Concordia-St. Paul (2-2) picked up its first wins of 2013 with a 9-1 victory in five innings over Southwestern Oklahoma State before an 11-1 five inning win over Southwest Baptist on Saturday afternoon in the 7-State Classic. Right handers

Stephanie Kappes (Circle Pines, Minn.) pitched back-to-back complete game, 2-hitters, striking out nine and eight, respectively.

Ashley Kluever (Cottage Grove, Minn.) struck out nine in a two-hit complete game victory to even her record at 1-1 making her second start.
Concordia scored two in the second and third innings and added five runs in the fourth inning powered by back-to-back home runs by
Cassie Bertelsen (Oakdale, Minn.) and
Katie Feuerbach (Iowa City, Iowa). K.Feuerbach went 3-3 with a solo homer while Bertelsen's shot was a 2-run homer.
Alicia Meiser (Circle Pines, Minn.) continued her strong start at the plate, going 2-2.
GAME 2: Concordia-St. Paul 11, Southwest Baptist 1 (5 innings)
Sophomore
Stephanie Kappes (Circle Pines, Minn.) struck out eight will limiting SBU to just two hits and two walks over five innings to level her record at 1-1 in her second start.
Concordia set the tone in the first inning with four runs and added another in the third on a solo home run by senior
Missie Feuerbach (Iowa City, Iowa), her first of the season. She went 2-4 with three RBI in the game.
The Golden Bears added four more runs in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 9-0.
SBU countered with a home run in the bottom of the fourth, but it was all they'd get against Kappes.
Meiser went 2-3 and is now hitting .636 (7-11) in the first four games of the year. She also stole a pair of bases and scored a pair of runs in the game.
Brynn Larsen (Oconto Falls, Wis.) went 2-3, scoring three runs and driving in two while also drawing a walk and stealing a base.
Concordia concludes the 7-State Classic tomorrow with games at 9 and 11 a.m. against Henderson State and host Arkansas-Monticello.
