ST. PAUL, Minn. - This weekend, Concordia-St. Paul women's basketball (17-5, 15-3 NSIC) travels to Winona State (18-7, 12-6) and Upper Iowa (7-18, 4-14) on Friday and Saturday. The Golden Bears have won 8-straight on the road, 9-straight overall and are 14-1 in the last 15 games.
But they'll have to go through one of the three NSIC teams to defeat them on Friday. Back in December, Winona State defeated Concordia 62-59 at Gangelhoff Center which ignited Concordia's run of 14 wins in 15 games. The Warriors are also currently on a hot streak with 4-straight wins and a 7-2 record in the last nine games. WSU has also won the last four meetings against Concordia, but prior to that Concordia had won 19 of the previous 20 meetings and controls the all-time series 25-11 against WSU.
Saturday's opponent, Upper Iowa in Fayette, is reeling with 5-straight losses. Concordia defeated UIU 79-57 earlier this season in St. Paul. The Golden Bears have won 15 of the 16 all-time meetings against the Peacocks, although in their last trip to Fayette in January of 2012, the Peacocks defeated Concordia 62-44.
The Golden Bears have been receiving votes for the WBCA Top-25 for the past four weeks, ascending to the top team receiving votes to be left out of the Top-25.
