ST. PAUL, Minn. - This weekend, Concordia-St. Paul (3-7, 0-6 NSIC) returns home to open the New Year looking to snap a six game losing streak against Minnesota Duluth (5-5, 3-3 NSIC) on Friday at 8 p.m. and St. Cloud State (8-2, 4-2 NSIC) on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Gangelhoff Center.
The games will be Concordia's first against NSIC North Division competition. Last year, Concordia picked up its first NSIC win over UMD on a Friday night overtime road win, 76-73, and will look to pick up its first league win against the Bulldogs once again this year.
A win for Concordia moves Kelly Boe into a tie for second on the all-time wins list in Concordia basketball history. He holds a 103-100 mark in his eight seasons and holds the highest winning percentage in Concordia men's basketball coaching history at .507 while coaching the third most games (203). He's looking to tie John Hendrickson's 104 wins between 1973 and 1984 as Hendrickson compiled a 104-178 career record with the Comets.
Boe's Golden Bears hold six of the nine wins all-time against UMD as he's 6-3 against the Bulldogs while Concordia is 9-13 against UMD in program history. He also holds four of the five wins against SCSU in the series history, with a 4-10 mark against the Huskies while the program is 5-16 all-time against SCSU.
