ST. PAUL, Minn. -
The #14 Concordia University women's basketball team (4-2) is set to take on the Northern Michigan Wildcats (3-0) at the Gangelhoff Center at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday night.  The Golden Bears hold a 1-2 record against NMU in the all-time series.  The last meeting between the two schools came back on November 26th, 2010 as Northern Michigan beat Concordia 72-68 in overtime in St. Paul.

The Golden Bears had a light week last week with only one game on the schedule.  The Golden Bears hosted Jamestown on Saturday night and took care of business with a 74-57 win.  The game had a pair of ties and six lead changes but all came in the first half. The Golden Bears put together a strong end to the half to go into the break leading by 11 and never looked back.  In the second half, Jamestown only managed to trim the margin to single digits once, a nine point gap midway through the half.

Senior Rachel Hansen was a force in the Golden Bears' win over Jamestown.  She scored 20 points on 5-13 shooting and 10-15 from the free throw line as she consistently attacked the hoop.  She completed the double-double with 11 rebounds, eight offensive, to go along with six assists and four steals.  The double-double was the first of the year for the versatile point guard.  She is currently averaging 10.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

Northern Michigan enters the game unblemished with a 3-0 record and are one of the top teams receiving votes just outside the top 25 poll.  The Wildcats are coming off a 75-66 win over Lewis University this past Sunday.  They have also picked up wins over Finlandia and Madonna.

Alyssa Colla currrently leads NMU with 10.7 points per game on 39.3% shooting to go along with 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
