ST. PAUL, Minn. - The #14 Concordia University women's basketball team (3-2) plays host to Jamestown College (7-1) at 7 p.m. on Saturday in the Gangelhoff Center in a non-conference contest. This will be the first ever matchup between the Golden Bears and Jimmies.
Last weekend, Concordia went 1-1 in the Radisson Hotel Roseville Basketball Classic. Friday night's game between #9 CU and #21 Michigan Tech was an absolute thriller. There were six ties and eight lead changes in the second half alone as the two teams hit threes at a blinding rate. Concordia had two opportunities to break an 81-81 tie late in the game before Kylie Moxley hit a layup with four seconds left to give MTU the deciding 83-81 advantage. On Saturday, Concordia ran out to a double digit lead late in the first half against UW-Parkside and they didn't look back. CU cruised to a 73-53 win.

Carissa Wolyniec is having her best season statistically for Concordia as she is averaging 13.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting an impressive 46.9% from beyond the arc. Wolyniec has been a weapon from three in her CU career, ranking fourth in school history with 188 career threes made.
NSIC Preseason Player of the Year
Anika Whiting comes into the game averaging 16.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game to lead the Golden Bears. She is shooting 41.5% from the floor and 96.2% from the free throw line.
Jamestown is coming off a 67-48 win over Dickinson State on Wednesday night to improve to 7-1. Jamestown faced off against two NSIC opponents in Minot State and Augustana in exhibition play prior to that game and dropped both games.
Guard Hannah Steele currently leads the Jimmies with 15.3 points per game. She had a season-high 25 points against Dordt College on November 2nd. She is joined by Jessica Buck (11.8) and Carly Jensen (11.1) in double figures in scoring.
