ST. PAUL, Minn. -
The Concordia Golden Bears soccer team (4-10-0, 3-8-0 NSIC) are hosting the #25 Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs (13-1, 10-1 NSIC) and the Sioux Falls Cougars (2-11-1, 2-8-1 NSIC) at Sea Foam Stadium on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.  Saturday's match with the Mustangs kicks off at 1:00 p.m. as does Sunday's match with the Cougars.

Concordia was swept at home this weekend by Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State.  On Friday, the Golden Bears struck first just 55 seconds into the match on a Kaylyn Rae Smith header off a corner but couldn't hold onto the lead.  The Bulldogs evened the score in the 61st minute and nearly took the lead a few minutes later on a shot off the crossbar.  It wasn't until nearly six minutes into the second overtime that the tie was broken on a beautiful goal for UMD to end it.  On Sunday, CU had to play catch up after two early second half goals gave SCSU a two goal lead.  Erica Landry cut the lead in half in the 71st minute but the Golden Bears were unable to pull even in the second consecutive 2-1 loss.  Concordia has now lost five of their last six games.  Alahna Anderson leads the team with six goals.

The Mustangs bounced back from their first loss of the season this past weekend to sweep MSU Moorhead and Northern State on the road.  SMSU jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half en route to a 3-1 win over the Dragons on Saturday and broke a 1-1 tie in the 110th minute to finish off the weekend with two wins.  Miranda Cadena leads the Mustangs with 10 goals on the season and keeper Brienna Dehkes is 12-1 with an 0.68 goals against average.

The Cougars broke a five game losing streak on Sunday with a 2-1 win over MSU Moorhead.  On Saturday, they lost a tough double overtime game to the Northern State Wolves.  Ciara Howerton and Tia Ferrando are tied for the team lead with two goals.
