Kelly Boe excerpts from Golden Bear Insider with Dan Flanagan podcast interview:
On what the team is working on in practice this week: "We keep teaching, we still have teachable things with our guys. Too many times we have guys that for every one good play they make they are screwing up three, and that's just not winning basketball. We have too many guys that are matching up with guys and are giving up more points than they're scoring. Obviously we're not a team that can throw the ball into our 4's and 5's and get consistent scoring, and if you don't have that, it's going to be tough."
On the team's upcoming stretch: "We're getting to a part of our schedule right now that will be good for us. I think every team we've played so far is really good – not to say the teams we're going to play are bad, but I think we are getting to a part of our schedule that gives us a chance to win some games."
On this weekend's match-ups: "I think we match-up okay with both teams, I think St. Cloud's a good team. Duluth is struggling, they have a new coaching staff, they are in a similar situation kind of like we are where they are just kind of struggling. I do think we match-up okay with St. Cloud but they have nice depth. That's a big difference for teams right now, too, if you can go 8-9 (deep) and really not miss a beat versus going 7-8 (deep) and losing something. That's what separates St. Cloud, I thought it separated (Minnesota State) Mankato last night. They (MSU) have got guys that come in off the bench and score better than our starters."
Cole Olstad excerpts from Golden Bear Insider with Dan Flanagan podcast interview:
"We're going to stay aggressive and bring the energy, try to play together as a team and get better every day. We're right there, we'll know it feels like and start from that first “W” and go from there.”
