ROAD GAMES AT UMD PUSHED TO WEDNESDAY

DULUTH, Minn. - Officials at the University of Minnesota Duluth have announced that the doubleheader between Concordia (20-20, 11-15 NSIC) and UMD (19-24, 12-17) has been delayed one day, moving from Tuesday to Wednesday. The games will have a 1:00 p.m. first pitch on Wednesday, May 2. The games have been changed due to a threat of stormy conditions, according to UMD's athletic website.

With only a week remaining in the regular season, it's a crucial series for each team. Concordia trails Upper Iowa 2.5 games for the sixth spot in the NSIC standings. Meanwhile, UMD is just 3.0 games back.

The teams are gunning for the sixth spot due to the NSIC Tournament taking the top six teams at the end of the conference season. Those six teams compete for the NSIC Tournament Championship, which earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Also in the mix are Southwest Minnesota State (12-14) and Bemidji State (12-18). SMSU and BSU play each other on Wednesday in Bemidji, Minn. Upper Iowa, meanwhile, hosts St. Cloud State (20-6) on Tuesday.

There is a sizeable 3.5 game gap between fifth place Wayne State (17-9) and sixth place Upper Iowa. Concordia plays Wayne State in a 4-game series this weekend in Wayne, Neb. with the Wildcats hosting Minnesota, Crookston (4-26) on Wednesday.
