St. PAUL, Minn. - After getting a taste of NSIC play this past weekend the Golden Bears (15-10, 0-2 NSIC) with a pair of games, but this week Concordia gets a full dose with six games in five days. It starts with a mid-week double header tomorrow at 2 p.m. against Upper Iowa (10-19, 2-2 NSIC) on the road and then welcome Northern State (11-13, 2-2 NSIC) and U-Mary (11-8, 2-2 NSIC) on Saturday and Sunday.

The Peacocks are coming off a 2-2 weekend in with splits against MSU-Moorhead and Minnesota, Crookston. The double header is the first true road test for the Golden Bears this season after playing 22 neutral site games and just one road game during their RMAC/NSIC Crossover. Upper Iowa is sixth in the NSIC in hitting with a .292 average, four points higher than CU. Concordia has scored 121 runs four more than UIU.
Upper Iowa does not hit many homeruns which could bode well for CU because they are 13-3 when the do not allow a home run. The Golden Bears have an advantage in stole bases stealing 20 more bases than the Peacocks and getting caught nine less times.
Not only have the Golden Bears been able to use their speed but their speedsters have been able to get on base often as well, as
Alicia Meiser (Circle Pines, Minn.),
Katie Anderson (Mendota Heights, Minn.) and
Erin Tjornhom (Eagan, Minn.), have the top three batting averages on the team. Meiser led the team with nine multiple hit games with 9 plus Tjornhom and Anderson are behind him with eight and seven apiece.
