INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA released its first Women's Volleyball Regional Rankings and Concordia University was voted as the No. 1 team in the Central Region. The Golden Bears are 15-2 against region opponents and 20-3 overall.
The NSIC, the Great American Conference (GAC) and the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) make up the NCAA Central Region this year. In the first rankings the NSIC had six of the top ten teams - Southwest Minnesota State is third, followed by UMD at five, Wayne State at eight, Minnesota State at nine and Augustana at ten.
The NCAA selection to the national tournament will take place on November 18. The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA Central Region Tournament which begins November 29.
Before CU can think about postseason play, though, the Golden Bears must first take care of business with five regular season matches remaining.
