Golden Bears drop season finale 3-0 at Winona State

WINONA, Minn. – The Concordia University soccer team finished its 2012 campaign with a 3-0 loss at Winona State on Sunday afternoon. The Golden Bears fall just one spot shy of reaching the NSIC playoffs in ninth place, ending the year at 8-9-1 overall and 7-7-1 in league play.

Katy Soliday scored the game-winner for Winona State at the 28:57 mark. Cailyn McCauley added another in the 59th minute and Morgan LeFebvre capped it off with a score in the 77th minute.

The Warriors outshot the Bears 16-to-13, while Alexandra Vial collected five saves in the complete game win. Kayla Kuczaboski (Vadnais Heights, Minn.) suffered the loss after making six saves. She ends the season with a 3-5-1 record, 2.23 goals against average and .667 save percentage.

Arielle Stimson (Lakeville, Minn.) finishes her career second in the CU record books with 71 points on 27 goals and 17 assists, which rank second and third, respectively.

After transferring the Concordia in 2011, Amanda Olsen (Cottage Grove, Minn.) finished her two-year Golden Bear career as the programs leader in points per game with an average of 1.70. Olsen's 21 goals rank fourth and her 0.64 goals per game average is the highest in CU history. Her 15 assists, 11 from this season, rank fourth.

Kim Sauberlich (Appleton, Wis.) caps her career as the program's leader in penalty kicks made, having scored three on five attempts. She tallied six goals and five assists in 65 games played.

Kristi Loobeek (New Hope, Minn.) finishes her time at Concordia with three assists in 71 games played.

Olsen was the team leader this season in goals, assists and points (8-11-27), while Stimson also posted a team-high eight goals. Emma Gartner (Springdale, Ark.) was the leader between the posts with a 5-4 record, 1.67 goals against average and .746 save percentage.
