SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Concordia University soccer team claimed its first victory on the road this season with a 3-1 win over Sioux Falls on Saturday. The Golden Bears improve to 7-7-1 overall and 6-5-1 in the NSIC with 19 points for seventh place.

Sam McBain (Faribault, Minn.) scored the first goal for the Golden Bears at the 9:30 mark on a rebounded shot by Arielle Stimson (Lakeville, Minn.). The goal was McBain's second on the year. Stimson then found the net in the 22nd minute for what proved to be the game-winner. Stimson is second on the team with seven goals. Rachel Gratz (Eagan, Minn.) was issued the assist, her second, and the Bears went into the break with a two-goal lead.

Chloe Moore (Lakeville, Minn.) gave Concordia a 3-0 advantage in the 62nd minute as Stimson found her for an open net. Moore's goal was her sixth of the season as Stimson tallied her fourth point of the game and 16th this year.

The Cougars ended the shutout shortly after Moore's goal at the 64:20 mark on a goal by Abbey Roelfson, but that would be the last of the game for a 3-1 final.

CU outshot Sioux Falls 12-to-10. Kayla Kuczaboski (Vadnais Heights, Minn.) recorded three saves in the complete game victory, improving to 2-3 in her fifth game started. Her counterpart, Carrin Cook, took the loss with three saves as well.

Concordia wraps up its four-game road trip Sunday at Southwest Minnesota State. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the Regional Event Center in Marshall, Minn. The Mustangs lost to Minnesota State 2-0 today and are 5-6-1 in the NSIC.
