saint paul, minn. - the golden bears (10-0, 2-0 nsic) kept up their winning ways in large part due to 40 combined kills by kayla koenecke, katie habeck, ellie duffy and megan carlson in the match. Habeck and koenecke each had 11 kills and duffy and carlson each had nine as cu swept mary (2-9, 1-2 nsic) 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-12). Habeck also added five blocks in the match as the cu defense held mary to .090 hitting. Carlson led the way with 15 digs in the match just missing a double-double.

duffy also just missed a double-double as she had 11 digs in the match which is a new career high for the junior. Cassie weaver had nine digs finishing the game third on the team in digs. Koenecke was also a force at the net combining with habeck for three blocks and also adding a solo block. Amanda konetchy had 37 assists in the game as cu hit .392 in the match.
the first set was tight early in the set, tied at five a piece when weaver started to serve. Cu rattled off three straight points to get some breathing room. Concordia had a pair of six point leads at 13-7 and 14-8 midway through the set. With the score 15-9 the golden bears scored 10 of the next 13 points to take the set 25-12.
in the second concordia got up to a 10-3 lead early on and did not look back. Mary took a timeout trailing 18-7 late in the second set, however the timeout did not work as cu held a 19-11 lead late. Carlson had four kills in the final six points of the set as cu won 25-11.
the marauders put up a fight in the early portion of the third set trailing by just three at 12-9. Concordia then poured it on and quickly went up 17-11 late in the set. The golden bears kept rolling along and scored the last seven points of the set forcing five attack errors by mary.
concordia will play host to #16 minnesota state this tuesday night at the gangelhoff center starting at 7:00 p.m.
