the golden bears have not lost a game since april 7, matching the 2005 record of 13 straight wins. They have a chance to set their own winning record as they return to carlander field on monday afternoon to take on the university of mary at 12 noon. The golden bears are 10-0 at carlander field this season.

anna bjorlin had one hit in each game of today's doubleheader and set the program's new hits record in front of a home crowd. She tied the former record in her first at-bat of the day and used her final at-bat to put her name on top of the category with 230 career hits. Bjorlin has a team high 53 knocks this season and is hitting .417.

game 1
the first inning of the opening game gave every indication of the success that concordia would see on the day. The golden bears turned a double play before getting off of the field and then put up a five-spot in their half of the inning. The wolves committed all three of their game's errors in the first inning and concordia's tiff rodd hit her first home run of the day, a three-run shot to straight away center field. Rodd would come back with a solo shot in the fourth inning to finish with four rbi in the game and bump her season home run total to nine. A notch in the hits column also extended her hitting streak to 13 games, which matched a team high on the year.

ashley kluever pitched a one-hit, complete game shutout to extend concordia's winning streak. The only ball that got past her infield was a one-out single down the left field line in the second inning. This base runner was the only northern state player to get into scoring position in the game, left stranded at third base. Kluever marked two strikeouts.

leading off the game for the golden bears was senior anna bjorlin, who entered the game one hit shy of cu's all-time hits record. Bjorlin wasted no time tying herself up for the record, driving a single to left field and sitting at 229 career hits. Also concordia's all-time runs scored leader, bjorlin came around to notch cu's first run of the game, which proved to be all that the golden bears would need with kluever throwing the shutout.

the golden bear offense came up with nine hits in their four innings of at-bats. katie anderson found a sweet spot and drove out two triples, both times to right center field. Anderson and rodd were two of three cu batters with a multi-hit game. Senior nikki scherr also had two hits for a 2-for-2 day, gaining a bunt single in the second and driving in two runs with a double in the third.

game 2
concordia's batters were quieted a bit in the second game of the day, being sent down in order in two of the six innings of at-bats. With stephanie schmikla on the rubber working her way to a two-hit win and backed by a particularly impressive infield effort, the golden bears needed just one run to earn the win.

the team earned that go-ahead run in the second inning and tacked another run on in each of the fifth and sixth innings for the 3-0 victory. sami mattson singled to left center field and made her way around the bags with each consecutive at-bat by her teammates. Bjorlin finished mattson's trip to the plate with a ground ball in the infield for the rbi. abby brundidge and missie feuerbach also had rbis in the game, feuerbach laying down a perfect squeeze bunt to allow jamie lindboe to score in the sixth inning.

schmikla picked up her 10th win of the year and allowed northern state only two hits. The singles were separated by five innings and both of the baserunners were eliminated in double play innings. Schmikla struck out three batters.
concordia's seven hits came from seven different batters. The team was seeing the ball well at the dish, striking out just twice in each of the day's games.
