Sweet 16: golden bear winter athletes earn nsic all-academic

st. Paul, minn. - the northern sun intercollegiate conference (nsic) has released the 2009-10 nsic winter all-academic teams, representing men's and women's basketball, indoor track field and men's wrestling with concordia earning 16 spots between their four respective teams sponsored on the list. Women's itf led the charge with seven selections followed by men's itf with four, women's basketball with three and men's basketball with a pair.

to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity travelling team and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Furthermore, the athlete must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
