saint paul, minn. - the golden bears season ended in disapointing fashion sunday as they fell to augustana at sea foam stadium 2-1. Cu finished the year at 5-11-1 and 4-9 in the nsic. cu got on the board first third minute of the match when rachel skog found kari janes streaking inside the box on right side. Jane took one dribble to control the ball and beat the keeper on the right side. Augustana answered back when jessie huff sent a laser from about thiry yards out and beat cu keeeper megan kurtz.

in the second half it was the vikings strike first in the 59th minute when maren werth headed a ball on net that hit the post and then off of kurtz and inside the right pole to put austana up 2-1. The match finished 2-1 as neither team was able to net another goal.

the golden bears sara sather, lauren nelson, britttany brandt and janes all played their final games in a cu jersey on sunday. Janes finshes her career sixth all time in points for cu. Janes, sather and nelson all rank in the top ten in games played as well.
