No contest for Golden Bears, 50th consecutive win in the books

st. Paul, minn. - it took just 57 minutes for the golden bears (13-0, 2-0 nsic) to annihilate the peacocks of upper iowa (9-7, 0-2 nsic) friday evening, hitting a season high .512 with 48 kills in the match. Upper iowa was held to a -.011 hitting average and was aced six times by golden bear servers. concordia's offensive weapons were on display throughout the evening, starting with a .750 first set win with 15 kills in 20 attempts and no errors. Freshman cassie haag had six of those kills in seven total attempts, good for a .857 hitting average. The middle hitter continued her torrid run that started last weekend at the gangelhoff center, leading the team on the evening with 15 total kills, a career high.

sadie kessler was equally impressive in the match as the go-to rightside hitter. She went without an error and came up with 10 kills, as well as a set of service aces. megan carlson's streak of double figure kill matches that has spanned the entire season was ended against the peacocks as she came up just shy with nine kills. She did not make an error on the evening either and pulled up 10 digs. emily palkert had eight kills.

maggie mcnamara kept the offense rolling with 40 assists. She also had eight digs. mary slinger had some truly amazing touches on the defensive end, including the perfect rendition of a pancake, and finished with a match high 18 digs.

the golden bears hit .512 on the evening and had 48 each of kills and digs. The squad combined for six total blocks and six service aces.

the peacocks did their best to stick with the golden bears, seeing the most success in the beginning of the first set and through parts of the final set. Their defense was simply unable to handle concordia's power. Three players notched a team high four kills in the match, while two players came up with a high of seven digs.

concordia is at home once again tomorrow afternoon, hosting winona state at 3:00 pm.
