st. Paul, minn. - concordia university athletics is pleased to announce that 31 of its spring sport athletes have been named to the 2009 nsic all-academic team, released today by the nsic office. On the 2008-09 school year, 81 concordia student-athletes were named nsic all-academic. To be eligible for this honor, the student-athlete must have a gpa of 3.20 or higher, must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.

the golden bears had a strong showing on the spring all-academic list, putting student-athletes from every spring sport on the list of those honored. The women's golf team, having recently returned from the 2009 ncaa championships where they took 9th place overall, had every eligible athlete named to the all-academic roster (6). The women's track field team had the highest number of student-athletes recognized with seven, while the baseball and softball teams had five honorees each. The men's track field team and the men's golf team each had four athletes reach the academic distinction.
