the golden bears found success against one of the league's best pitchers, stacey struzynski. They out-hit the warriors 7-6 and put runners on the bags in every inning. Their first real scoring threat came in the third inning as anna bjorlin and natalie mast both reached base on back-to-back walks. Jamie lindboe gave the ball a ride to left field, but just got under it and flew out to retire the side.

two runners also reached in the fourth inning but struzynski gained two of her game's 11 strikeouts in the frame and the golden bears were caught stealing for the final out. It was in the sixth inning that the team's swings were rewarded with runs, as abby brundidge and sami mattson sent back-to-back balls over the left field fence to get the team on the board and pull the golden bears back into the game, 3-2.

the two concordia home runs matched the warrior long ball swings at the time, although winona state clung to the lead with one of their home runs being a two-run shot. Concordia's defense and a settled stephanie schmikla put up three zeros on the board and kept the winona state damage to a manageable amount. In the bottom of the sixth, however, a walked batter and two more yard balls gave the warriors their final 6-2 lead.

mattson and tiff rodd each had multi-hit games for concordia. The only hits aside from the two long shots all went for singles, with several balls shot up the middle of the field. 11 concordia batters were sent down on struzynski's attack of the zone.

amanda wilhelm had a big game for the warriors, hitting a set of two-run homers for four rbi. Jenny wilmes was t-for-3 at the plate with a home run.
