game 1: cu 4, u-mary 0
senior right handed pitcher chris kimpton fanned eight batters in four shutout innings to earn his first career victory while making his ninth start on the hill in his second season with cu. The canberra, aus. Native allowed two hits and two walks in his debut performance.

at the plate, sophomore catcher sam fagely (mahtomedi, minn.) went 2-3 with a pair of triples, driving in cu's first run and scoring the second run. Senior third baseman zane froehlich (sioux falls, s.d.) came up with a two run single in the seventh to give the golden bears added breathing room.

the two extra runs allowed freshman relief pitcher ben lemke (rosemount, minn.) to nail down the save in his first career outing. Lemke worked three shutout innings out of the bullpen, allowing a pair of hits while striking out two.

continuing his early season batting surge was sophomore jon stockton (oakdale, minn.) who went 2-3 with a run and an rbi double in the game.

nate watson took the loss for the marauders, working into the sixth inning while allowing a pair of runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and a walk.

game 2: cu 8, u-mary 3
senior right handed pitcher aaron pfalzgraff (garland, texas) took a no-hitter into the fifth inning before the marauders were able to pounce for four hits and three runs off him in the fifth inning, knocking him out after 4.1 innings. He finished with four strikeouts and earned his first win of the year.

he was relieved by senior lefty kirk ingram (woodbury, minn.) who made his 50th career appearance out of the bullpen. In his second outing this year, ingram was perfect in 1.2 innings, striking out one.

the golden bears scored three in the third off starter daniel massenburge as he walked five in the three innings he worked. After hitting the first batter in the fourth, massenburge's night ended.

two batters later, senior centerfielder jake schmidt (oakdale, minn.) produced a three run blast to put cu ahead 6-0. Senior catcher chris herbert (white bear lake, minn.) followed with a towering ground rule double to center and scored in the inning to give the golden bears a 7-0 advantage after four.
