Concordia (25-18) used five home runs and 12 hits en route to a 10-5 victory over st. Cloud state (32-18) in the first game of the day at caswell park in north mankato. The golden bear bats were silenced in game two as south dakota (17-23) earned a 5-1 win over cu.

natalie mast (oakdale, mn) led off the game with her first career home run to left field giving concordia a quick 1-0 lead.
freshman
nikki scherr (stewartville, mn) duplicated the feet with her first career home run in the top of the second inning with a shot also to left field.
the huskies tied the score at 2-2 in the bottom of the second with a two run home run of their own. But concordia countered with four runs in the top of the fourth on three walks and three hits.
sami mattson (fr., esko, mn) had a two run single in the inning.
the golden bears added three more in the top of the fifth on a three-run home run by
mallory olson (sr., stillwater, mn), her second of the season.
sophomore
anna bjorlin (hermantown, mn) rounded out the scoring with her fourth home run of the season with a shot to right center in the top of the seventh inning.
for the game, concordia scored ten runs on 12 hits. Scherr was 3-4 with three runs scored and a rbi, while mast was 2-5 with two runs and two rbi and m. Olson was 2-4 with three rbi.
the huskies scored their five runs on 14 hits off of concordia starter
stephanie schmikla (fr., madison, wi). Schmikla finished with seven strikeouts and three walks.

concordia managed just three hits on offense and committed for errors on defense as the coyotes earned a 5-1 win over
jenn kaminksi (jr., columbia heights, mn) and the golden bears.
mallory olson had two of concordia's three hits in the game, including her second home run of the day and third of the season in the bottom of the seventh inning.
sophomore
abby brundidge (cloquet, mn) managed the other concordia hit in the game in the first inning.
the golden bears managed five walks in the game, but stranded seven runners on base, while south dakota left five.
kaminksi allowed five runs, with only two earned on nine hits and a walk in seven innings.
