The golden bears (11-8) returned home from st. Joseph, missouri with a 1-4 record, suffering a 10-0 five inning loss to central missouri on friday morning and a 7-4 setback to washburn friday afternoon. Concordia rebounded to earn a 8-5 win over missouri southern on saturday morning.

central missouri 10, cu 0 (5 inn)
the concordia bats were silenced by central missouri pitcher megan leonard who allowed just one hit and a walk while striking out 12 golden bear batters.
sophomore
anna bjorlin (so., hermantown, mn) recorded the only hit of the game for the bears, while
tiffany rodd (so., cloquet, mn) earned a walk, with both coming in the fourth inning.
cassye mcmahon (fr., rescue, ca) took the loss for concordia allowing five earned runs on six hits and six walks. She did strike out five jenny batters in 2.2 innings of work.
jenn kaminski (jr., columbia heights, mn) came entered the game in relief in the third inning and allowed five runs (three earned) on five hits and a walk.
friday, march 21 - game 2 - washburn 7, cu 4
concordia got on the scoreboard first in the second inning on a solo homerun by sophomore
abby brundidge (nekoosa, wi) giving the golden bears a 1-0 lead.
washburn tied the score at 1-1 with a top of the third inning. Concordia countered with another run in bottom of the third inning. Sophomore
nikki scherr (stewartville, mn) reached first on a single to third base and stole second. She would score on a single to right field by
anna bjorlin (so., hermantown, mn).
katie duncan would give washburn the lead again with a 2-run home run of her own in the top of the fourth, giving the lady blues a 3-2 lead. They would add one more in the fifth and sixth for a 5-2 lead.
concordia got one back in the bottom of the sixth on another brundidge home run to cut the lead to 5-3. Washburn added two more in the top of the seventh on a pair of walks and a pair of hits.
the golden bears started the seventh with a double to left field by scherr. She would later score on a two-out double by bjorlin. Bjorlin would be stranded at second as the bears fell 7-4.
cassye mcmahon tok the loss allowing five earned runs on nine hits and a walk. She had four strikeouts in the game.

sami mattson (fr., esko, mn) and scherr each had two hit for concordia as the golden bears scored four runs on nine hits. Neither team committed an error in the game.
saturday, march 22 - cu 8, missouri southern 5
the concordia bats came to life against missouri southern as the golden bears recorded a season-high 18 hits. Nine batters got at least one hit and five players recorded mulitple hits in the game, with
nicole tischler (sr., columbia heights, mn) and abby brundidge each going 4-5 in the game.
tischler, brundidge, and nikki scherr each also had a double in the game.
weekend notes - abby brundidge went 8-16 (.500) with 2 doubles, 2 homeruns at the western missouri invite. She also scored four runs and had four rbi with a 1.000 slugging percentage.
nicole tischler went 7-16 (.438) with a double and four rbi scored on the weekend.
natalie mast was 6-15 (.400) with three runs scored. She was also 5-6 in stolen base attempts and is now 25-28 on the season in stolen base attempts. She holds the school record with 29 stolen bases in a season.
