st. Paul, minn. €" the concordia university soccer team fought off nsic-leading and #3-ranked winona state in a battle today at concordia field. The golden bears dropped a 1-0 decision, but played tough especially in the second half and were only out-shot by two shots on goal. They are now 6-10 on the season and 3-6 in league play. The warriors remain undefeated in the nsic at 8-0 and are 13-1 on the year.

concordia picked up the pressure in the second period and stayed on the offensive for much of the final 45 minutes. They put five shots on goal and took nine shots in the period while holding winona state to 11 shots and just four shots on goal.
keyton wheelock made nine saves with just the one goal allowed in the game. The cu offense was led by lauren nelson with two shots on goal. Six of nelson’s teammates each took one shot on goal.
