james metcalf (killeen, tx) tallied his second straight double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds but concordia (10-8, 4-5 nsic) still scored its season-low as it fell to southwest minnesota state (10-7, 5-4 nsic) saturday night in marshall 74-50.
the golden bears scored the first two points of the game on a jump shot by metcalf and took their largest lead 7-1 on a three point shot by
craig heiman (marshall, wi) at 16:09.
concordia would last lead at 13-12 at 9:44 of the first half. From that point southwest minnesota went on a 14-0 run to take a 26-13 lead at 4:16 of the first half.
the mustangs would lead 28-18 going into the locker room at the half. Concordia shot just 7-27 (25.9%) in the first half from the field and were 1-7 from three point range.
the second half southwest minnesota state would lead by as many as 32 points at 72-40 with 2:44 to play.
metcalf and heiman (right) would be the only two concordia players to score in double-figures. Metcalf was 6-11 from the field and 3-4 from the line to finish with 15 points, while heiman scored ten points on 4-9 from the field, including 1-3 from beyond the arc and 1-2 from the free throw line.

the golden bears shot better from the floor in the second half, making 14-32 (43.8%), but were just 1-11 (9.1%) from three point range in the second half.
on the night, they were 21-59 (35.6%) from the field and only 2-18 (11.1%) from three. They also shot 6-8 (75.0%) from the free throw line.

concordia had 16 turnovers while the mustangs committed ten. The golden bears were outrebounded 38-34.
southwest minnesota state was led by ross demasi with his third double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Kevin andrews and travis krenske each added 13 in the win.
the golden bears will be in action at msu moorhead on jan. 26 in nsic play.
