The concordia (15-10, 2-0 nsic) bats came to life as the bears scored 12 runs on ten hits against northern state (2-24, 0-2 nsic) in the second game of the nsic crossover at dunning field in st. Paul. The bears won 12-4 in five innings, giving
jenny kaminski her ninth win of the season (9-3).
concordia opened with
anna bjorlin reaching on an error and advanced to second on a passed ball. She would score when
natalie mast singled down the left field line. She would advance to second on an
abby brundidge single. Mast would steal third and score on a past ball giving the bears an early 2-0 lead.
they would break the game open in the second scoring six runs on five straight hits. After a walk by
josie olson, the bears would load bases on singles by bjorlin and mast.
amanda yurek singled to center to score olson and bjorlin. Brundidge followed that up with a three-run home run.
mallory olson backed that up with a home run of her own, giving the bears a 8-0 lead.
northern state scored two runs in the top of the third on three hits, but the bears would answer with four more in the bottom of the third on a walk by bjorlin, a single by mast. Yurek would reach on an error on the shortstop and brundidge and olson had rbi singles to give the bears a 12-2 lead.
northern scored two more in the top of the fourth. Kaminski allowed four runs on six hits with one concordia error.
the bears finished with 12 runs on ten hits, with brundidge leading the way, going 3-3 with a home run and four rbi. Mast went 3-3, scored three runs and had an rbi. M. Olson went 2-2 with a home run and two rbi and yurek finished 1-3 with two rbi and two runs scored.
