The moorhead dragons (20-8) handed concordia (30-4) its first loss ever in the nsic tournament in defeating the bears 31-29, 30-28, 22-30, 30-22 in the gangelhoff center. With the win, msu moorhead will face wayne state in the nsic championship match on saturday at 7:00.
the bears highlight of the night came on the defensive efforts of junior
mary slinger, who broke the school record for digs in a match with 39. Megan graham held the previous record of 38 set on oct. 15, 2005 against wayne state.

whitney meierotto led the bears with 17 kills and 25 digs, while
emily palkert had 14 kills and eight blocks.
sadie kessler added 13 kills in the loss.
the dragons controlled the net as they posted 21.5 blocks on the bears. Kelci guenther for msu moorhead recorded a double-double with 16 kills and 11 blocks.
as a team, the bears hit .106 with 66 kills, 42 errors in 227 attempts. Msu moorhead had 58 kills against 29 errors in 216 attempts (.134).
concordia tallied 110 digs on the night, compared to 99 for the dragons.

the bears will now wait until the ncaa selection show on monday, nov. 12th at 8:00 a.m. To find out where they will be seeded in the ncaa tournament, set to begin on nov. 14.
