emily palkert were unstoppable as #3 concordia-st. Paul (29-3, 17-1 nsic) swept the university of mary (12-13, 7-11 nsic) 30-18, 30-26, 30-24 on saturday afternoon at the gangelhoff center.
steinhagen posted 17 kills, hit .571 and had six blocks (one solo) while palkert stepped up with 15 kills, hitting .385 with four blocks (one solo).
the golden bears hit .291 with the offense being set by
maggie mcnamara's 49 assists. She also recorded six digs and three blocks on defense.
three other attackers registered seven kills,
sadie kessler,
kate bennett and
whitney meierotto. Meierotto also led the golden bears with 12 digs while mary slinger posted 11.
the marauders were led by tatiani santos who had 13 kills while ashley maas added nine with a team-high 12 digs.
concordia closes out the northern sun regular season slate with a 17-1 record and will be the top seed in the nsic tournament. The golden bears will host bemidji state, the eighth seed, on tuesday, november 6 at 7 p.m.
